(a) BIMS
will conduct Contact Programmes (CPs) and Term
end Examinations once a year i.e. in May/June,
at all the Metros and Selected state capitals
as under:- i) Chandigarh ii) New Delhi iii) Kolkata iv)
Pune v) Mumbai vi) Bangalore vii) Hyderabad viii)
Chennai. (b) Personnel Contact Programme (PCP) will be
taken by expert and experienced faculties to enrich
your knowledge base in that subject. PCP although
not compulsory but you are advised to attend as
it immensely assist you in the examinations which
will be held soon after PCPs.
(c) Faculties, who will be taking training sessions during Contact Programmes, will be senior managers from industries, Professors or renowned consultants in that field. The Executive Director of BIMS is expected to take few sessions during Contact Programmes. The Director of the Distance Learning Department also attends these contact programmes. Therefore, this can be a good occasion to share your views/suggestions/ settlement of problems, if any.
(d) It enables students to seek conceptual clarifications and also to understand industrial practices from horse’s mouth that is, stalwarts from the industry and various management Institutes / Colleges.
(e) It prepares students to perform better in the examinations as these are preceded by examinations. Lots of questions/queries are solved during the process of Contact Programmes especially from examination point of view.
(f) Students can avail this wonderful opportunity to share their views with other students who belong to various organizations and may be of immense assistance for each other in planning of Corporate Career.
(g) It provides an opportunity to students:-
- To interact with senior Managers / Faculties.
- To expose them in class room instructional environment.
- To establish new contacts.
- To feel the pulse of BIMS as a student not withstanding the age, employment, status and so on.
(h) We generally plan these Contact Programmes in such a way that:
- At least three months notice is given to students so that they can plan for their leave, if required.
- Not more than 5-7 days (including Saturdays and Sundays) are required for Contact Programmes.
- Contact Programmes are organized for only those subjects for which study materials have been sent/assignments were required to be submitted, so that students are in a better position/fairly well equipped to understand the subjects and do well in their exams/career.
Registration for Contact Programmes
Normally we have fixed centres throughout the country for contact programmes/examinations as per Para 27. You will be informed about the exact schedule of contact programme/examinations well in time (minimum 2/3 months in advance) and asked to register for: -
- Contact Programme only.
- Examinations only.
- For both contact programmes as well as examinations.
